HASTINGS, A FISHING PORT ON THE SOUTH COAST OF ENGLAND
Best known for having given its name to the Battle of Hastings 1066, Hastings became popular as a seaside resort in Victorian times, due to the arrival of the railway bringing tourists from London. Today it is mainly known for having the largest beach-based fishing fleet in the UK.
